Wildbound is the sequel to Forstborn and it is the perfect follow up to this YA fantasy. Romance, war and a fight for justice and freedom. I adore fantasy duologues and Wildbound has all the elements of an epic fantasy.
When Rora and Helos ventured into the Vale with Prince Weslyn, they did so with the hope they could save Prince Finley. Now their quest has failed, war is looming and they are running out of time. Wes and Helos set out to find Queen Violet and Rora journeys back into the Vale to serve some justice of her own. To fight for their futures, they will have to risk everything once again.
Wildbound continues the story of Forestborn but switches things up by adding Helos’ perspective in alternating chapters. As Rora and Helos follow different paths, it allows the reader to follow all the action. It also gives us a lot more insight into Helos’ relationship with Finley and Rora’s relationship with Wes. There is lots of really sweet moments, which is nice against the bloody reality of the war and fighting that dominates the plot.
Wildbound is a compelling story, hard to put down once you start. I can’t wait to read more from this author.
