Synopsis

Carly Smith came by her trust issues honestly. A victim of sex trafficking, she’s been at the mercy of merciless men, ignored by law enforcement officers who should have helped her, and seemingly rejected by her family. She can’t even trust herself to do the right thing. Though she escaped her captors and is working hard on building a new life, the past continues to haunt her when she discovers that the man she couldn’t bring herself to report to police for fear of reliving her captivity is still out there, luring vulnerable girls under the guise of being a modeling agent.

When her own niece is kidnapped, Carly must overcome her fears and come forward with the information she has before it’s too late. When that proves to be not enough, she’ll have to go after the perpetrators herself.

My thoughts

Suspenseful, intriguing, exciting and emotional, Justice Delivered combines mystery, action and romance with a heartbreaking story of traumatic circumstances overcome and the fight to battle fear and evil. Justice Delivered is the fourth book in the Memphis Cold Case series. Each book can be read as a standalone title. Like the other books in this series, Justice Delivered is a thrilling book, with relatable characters and heart-pounding suspense.

Carly knows not to trust anyone. After being tricked, kidnapped and then sold into a human sex trafficking ring, Carly survived eight years of abuse. Now, Carly lives a careful but free life, until her work as a counsellor brings her into contact with a young girl who was also trafficked and who has a scarily similar story to Carly’s. But if Carly decides to break her silence and seek justice against those who harmed her she will bring down danger not just on herself, but on her young niece as well.

Justice Delivered reminded me of Called to Protect by Lynette Eason, and it is perfect for fans of Irene Hannon and Dani Pettrey. Human trafficking is sadly a relevant topic and a very real danger in today’s society. The horror of Carly’s experiences are expertly conveyed in Justice Delivered without portraying too many details. The mystery of who was behind the trafficking and attacks was easy to guess but there is still plenty of action and twists to keep readers glued to the pages. I enjoyed the multiple featured characters in this book. Justice Delivered is Carly’s story, but it is also her brother-in-law’s story, the story of the mystery of her sister’s death, the story of Carly’s niece, and two romance stories. It’s packed with details expertly woven together and wholly enjoyable.

Justice Delivered is an easy book to recommend for suspense readers, who are sure to enjoy this fast-paced and thrilling title.

The publishers provided an advanced readers copy of this book for reviewing purposes. All opinions are my own.
